The Province of Verona will participate in the second edition of the region, with a stand dedicated to enhancing the system of strong Verona. The aim is to introduce the largest and most important defense system of the Veneto, made the Austro-Hungarian Empire in 800 and integrated surgery at the end of the Kingdom of Italy in the early decades of the 800 and 900, and at the same time presenting the action lines of the Province of Verona for the enhancement of the defensive system in Verona also SPACE1 Alpine community project, entitled: "Val d'Adige, the land of the strong - a project for cultural infrastructure ". This is part of the Community PLANNING more general defense system of Verona, so at Geo-Oikos will explain the fortifications of Verona, Peschiera del Garda and Pastrengo, Baldo-Lessinia and Val d'Adige.
Staging of the stand will participate with a contribution also exhibit the Province of Trento with a panel on the activities of exploitation of the territory fortified Trento and the Province of Turin, which will illustrate the process and ongoing efforts to recover the fortress Fenestrelle. The two provinces of Trento and Turin will be the fact partenrs Italians who will support the Province of Verona in participation in the European Territorial Cooperation Programme "Alpine Space". European partners will also be present, yet to be determined (Austria, Slovenia and France).
The Province of Verona has opted to expose the Alpine Space project because it believes that the system recognized today as an important part of the strong Verona territorial system, meant to promote innovative strategies for social and economic development of the territory. Thereby promoting the development of the Val d'Adige assumes a strategic value for the whole province of Verona.
The Val d'Adige has always been the connecting corridor between northern Europe and Italy, for this reason in the valley have developed the road infrastructure (road, highway, railway), leaving a secondary dimension in the historical settlement and Economic place at its edges. The Adige Valley as "the land of the strong" together with the whole system of fortifications in the province of Verona is the "identity" of an area that has recognized the one hand the historical memory of the epic battles of the Napoleonic forts and the Habsburgs and 'more the specificity of agricultural production and winemaking excellence.
